Here’s how you’ll start speaking Japanese quickly.
1. Be grouped with a Study Buddy
Introduce yourself and meet other like-minded buddies in the course to set you up for success.
You can complete tutorials, listening activities together, vocabulary quizzes, role play scripts to motivate each other.
2. Build a strong foundation of Japanese
Strong grammatical understanding through interactive videos and the Genki textbook. Learn how to efficiently and effectively study. Use online tools to review vocabulary consistently.
3. Ask and clarify questions with sensei
Clarify questions and receive feedback on our community group.

4. Chat with your study buddy using role play scripts and feel your progress

ANGELA - FROM ZERO JAPANESE KNOWLEDGE TO CHATTING ABOUT HERSELF IN SIX WEEKS
Angela started with ZERO - not even knowledge of the Japanese alphabet, Hiragana. She was looking for another hobby, other than sleeping. She started watching anime and progressed through the course. Six weeks later, she can introduce herself and watch her even ask questions confidently with accurate pronunciation and intonation.

Yuna Kubota

A university qualified teacher in Sydney who absolutely loves teaching! Reading and learning about new teaching strategies to cater for individual needs, and then implementing them have always been the driving force of Yuna’s motivation.
With over 10 years of experience teaching, including in a government high school and a little at university, she has enjoyed every moment of her career.
She is bilingual (English and Japanese) so lessons are delivered in both English and Japanese.
Currently, she leads a team of tutors at a coaching school in Sydney where she trains new tutors and future teachers!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why do you use a textbook and not your teaching material?
We use the Genki series, an internationally recognised textbook, for seamless transition if you wish to move to a local in-person language class. I'm sure that you would agree that it would simply the transition if to your future teacher if you can say, "I've completed Chapter 4 of Genki 1".
What's the difference with self-studying?
Who will tell you when you've incorrectly understood something from the textbook or Youtube? There are wonderful free resources on the internet but as a beginner student, you want to practise accurately to avoid picking up any bad habits!
and sometimes, studying by yourself can take more time than having a structured path... You will be guided every step of the way by a sensei so that you will be able to use the language from knowing zero to being able to construct your own sentences fast.
and even if you lose motivation... You will be matched with a study buddy to practice the target grammar and a passionate community to discus anything about Japan so that you can share your struggles and victories so you can continue progressing together.
So, what exactly is included in the 'structured learning'?
You can expect:
- Structured and organised weekly activities including homework
- Video Interactive speaking video activities to practice grammar and example sentences
- A role play script to practice with peers in the course to apply the learning goals of the course
- A certificate upon completion of all homework

Of course! Post in the community and I will answer all your course-related questions! Feedback and clarification is crucial to continue progressing and to avoid any bad habits.

If you can commit to at least 2 hours per week (on average), complete all the exercises assigned and ask any questions, then you can start speaking like Angela, Meleena, and Nabilah in six weeks or earlier.
